Questions
The things people ask before they come
Before you book
Is there a minimum stay?
Two nights, and three in August. In April and October we will take one night if the room is otherwise empty — ring rather than book online.
Do you take a deposit?
No. We hold the room for forty-eight hours on an email and you pay when you leave. Free cancellation up to seven days before; one night inside seven days; half the stay inside forty-eight hours.
Are the steps really a problem?
For some people, yes. It is forty steps from the parking to the house and more between the terraces. Syrma and Pigadi are level with their terraces and need no steps once you are down; tell us and we will drive your bags on the service track.
Can you take children?
Yes, and about a third of the house in July is families. Perivoli sleeps three and the suite sleeps three. There is no pool fence, which is the honest thing to know before you book.
Dogs?
Yes, with notice. Not in Kamara or the suite, and not left alone in the room while you are at dinner.
While you are here
What time is check-in?
From two in the afternoon, and out by eleven. If your ferry lands at six in the morning, leave the bags and have breakfast — the room will not be ready, but the coffee will.
Is there air conditioning?
In every room, though the walls are half a metre of stone and most people stop using it after the second night.
Is there wifi, and is it any good?
Yes, and it is fine for work in the rooms and on the main terrace. It is poor at the pool, which we have decided not to fix.
What happens if the ferry is cancelled?
It happens two or three times a season in the meltemi. We do not charge for a night you could not reach, and we will get on the telephone about the next boat, which is easier from here than from Piraeus.
Do you have a television?
No. There is a projector and about forty films if it rains, which is twice a season.
